Youth Ministry

Our youth are encouraged to participate in worship service and other congregational activities to help foster an intergenerational environment at Los Altos Christian Church.

The Youth Ministry of our church is divided up into three groups:

• CYF (9th through 12th grades)
• Chi Rho (6th through 8th grades)
• Children's Ministry (Kindergarten through 5th grades)

The CYF and Chi Rho groups have special activities throughout the year.  The activities are a combination of local community outreach projects, fun events, and topical discussion about faith, the church, and the culture in which they live.

The CYF group has participated in mission trips which take them to other communities where they learn, serve, and grow in faith. 

Los Altos participates in a summer camping program with the Tres Rios Area (geography that clusters several Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) congregations to partner in ministry together. Each summer the following camps are available for our youth to attend.

• CYF Conference (9th through 12th grades)
• Created to Be Me (8th grade)
• Chi Rho (6th through 7th grades)
• JYF (4th through 5th grades)
• New Beginnings (1st through 3rd grades)

Vacation Bible School

A big annual event for the children and younger youth is VBS (Vacation Bible School). It is held in late July of every year. It is held in the evening from Monday through Friday. It is an week event open to the people in the community that want their children to attend.
