Los Altos Christian Church - Special Ministries

The Wellness Ministry is a new and vital ministry to our congregation. The hope is to increase the awareness, skills, and abilities of people to strengthen the tie of our bodies, minds, and spirits to our Christian faith.

We are called to be caretakers of our bodies. Scripture tells us that our bodies are a temple.

The initiatives of the Wellness Ministry are:
1. Provide information and support for the health of our environment.

2. Organize bi-annual blood drives.

3. Organize quarterly blood sugar checks.

4. Provide visitation and support to our homebound members.

   5. Provide monthly classes on topics of health and wholeness.
   6. Offer health counseling to those in the church who need to speak privately to a nurse or doctor in the congregation.
   7. Offer a multi-session class on wholeness and wellness to the congregation and local community to broaden awareness of how we care for the body God has given to us.

The Wellness Ministry is led by a combination of people in the health field as well as people with a passion for this kind of work in the church.
